Guglielmo de ‘Giovanni-Centelles is Professor of Mediterranean History in the Universities of Naples (Suor Orsola Benincasa), Rome (Gregoriana), Reggio Calabria (Mediterranea).

He is the author of several scientific papers and books. On March 10, 2000 he was designated by Pope John Paul II member of the Pontifical Academy of Fine Arts and Letters of the Pantheon.

He is Director of the Mediterranean Institute of Classical Art (IMAC) of València, General Coordinator for Italy of the Conseil de la Culture Méditerranéen (UNESCO), Member of the Board Directors of the Roma-Mediterraneo Foundation and Honorary Inspector of the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage.
